Wish Upon A Card 2011
Thank you to everybody who supported us by donating and purchasing fabric postcards during the Wish Upon A Card Event at the Sister’s Outdoor Quilt Show. We made over $9,000 this year that will go toward our mission.
All the money we raise goes to help local cancer patients with expenses that are not covered by insurance, such as gas cards, motel bills or a utility bill. We are also funding a new massage for patients program.
Christmas Goose Success
Thanks to all of the people who shopped at the Christmas Goose Boutique and to all our wonderful vendors. We made $6400 for Wendy’s Wish. The money will be used to help cancer patients in Central Oregon.
Colon Cancer Awareness Month
March is colon cancer awareness month! You can wear blue to raise awareness, but you can also talk blue. Early detection is vital for treating colon cancer. Awareness and screenings are the keys to early detection. So get yourself screened if you are over 50 or have a history of colon cancer in your family. Then talk to others about getting screened too. Assistance Program
Wendy's Wish is working to fulfill our mission statement "to improve quality of life for Central and Eastern Oregon cancer patients by providing assistance with non-medical living expenses." We are doing this through a program we call the Wendy's Wish Assistance Program. To apply for assistance or for more information, contact Marlys in Cancer Services at 541-706-7743.
